Quake Swarm Continues Near Nevada/Calif Border

Here is a list of some articles that are good to read to help form a picture of the rifting activity in the Nevada-California border area, to the northeast of Mammoth Mountain volcano. As I mentioned yesterday, this whole area, from Crater Lake to the north to just south of Mexicali and into the Sea of Cortez is a building rifting area. I also listed an article about how extensive the magma plume under Yellowstone is. Good reads! Enjoy.

LA Times on Swarm, with interesting comments:

Here is an essential article about the size of the extensive magma plume under Yellowstone. WHen measuring is via electrical conductivity, instead of via seismic waves, we see a much larger plume than previously believed.
